The new bioplastic is made mainly from natural materials % it is 88% corn and 12% petroleum. The new bioplastic turned out to be much stronger than current bioplastics, with three times better shock impact resistance and 25 percent higher heat resistance. friendly % it is carbon neutral because it uses less fossil fuel and has a lowered amount of carbon dioxide emissions. Also, compared with producing petroleum based polypropylene plastics, producing bioplastic reduces energy use by as much as 30%.
Diesel also tried out successfully with using whale oil but neither fuel was as prevailing or as easily available as petroleum. At this time petroleum based oils were the most economically obtainable.

Despite mineral oil's association with petroleum and the hype that it is bad for skin, keep in mind that petroleum is a natural ingredient derived from the earth and that once it becomes mineral oil, it has no resemblance to the original petroleum. grade mineral oil and petrolatum are considered the safest, most nonirritating moisturizing ingredients ever found ( Cosmetics & Toiletries, January 2001, page 79; and Cosmetic Dermatology, September 2000, pages 44 6).
